Our Story
Hi there! Our names are Angie and Andrew, and we are the minds behind Blue Heron Lavender. Our story begins back in the sixth grade at a skating party, sometime in the 80’s. We met each other there, and 40+ years later, here we are. Andrew grew up on a grain and vegetable farm and has enjoyed agriculture from a young age. Angie has always loved crafting and has blessed many with her creations over the years. Together, we have combined our passions to start our lavender farm. We have fallen in love with this herb, from its scent and beauty to its versatility and calming properties. It is our pleasure to share with you our tranquil space located beside the Riley Creek in the middle of our 148-acre farm. We invite you to come see, smell, taste, and experience the beauty of Blue Heron Lavender.
Our Name
The great blue heron is often seen in the tranquil waters of the Riley Creek, a creek located next to our lavender farm. A blue heron’s visit is not just a random occurrence, but is often seen as a significant sign. It symbolizes calmness, self-reflection, and wisdom.
Our Mission
At Blue Heron Lavender, we are committed to growing high-quality lavender with care and purpose, fostering a space where visitors can find rest, renewal, and inspiration.
Meet the Team
Meet Audra! Our youngest daughter and only full-time hired employee. She does all of the social media and technology— she even created this website for us! She enjoys the culinary aspect of lavender and is planning to broaden our horizons with edible goods for you and anyone to purchase and enjoy. She’s our only team member for now, but in the future, we may be looking for more :)
